Here we go! 2016 Skills Academy Day 1

Parents, we want to thank you again for making it possible for your children to come to basketball camp this week. It is always so exciting at check in to see former campers return and to meet new campers joining us for the first time.  Their enthusiasm is contagious, and it is truly a joy to get to know them and watch their basketball skills improve.

Campers could hardly wait to get in the gym for their first session tonight. After feasting on baked chicken, chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, and fresh fruit in Pannill Commons, the camp laced up their high tops and got to work in Kirby Field House.

We focused on station work tonight. Campers rotated through six stations working on skill development which included ball handling, shooting, defense, rebounding, and team offense.  Coach Vick recorded each player's shooting form and will spend some time Sunday in our brand new state of the art Tiger film room giving individual critiques.

The evening ended with some 3-on-3 competition and everyone's favorite game, "Knockout."  Lights out at 11:00 p.m. and all is quiet. Good night from the Hill!
